Orbeez Stress Balls

The girls have been waiting to create orbeez stress balls for weeks - actually months! As a celebration of the end of the year, I thought it was time to finally make them. To save time, since we only work together for an hour, I searched on Pinterest for directions on making orbeez stress balls and found one that I thought we could try. The directions came from The S&S Blog.

MATERIALS

-Bucket
-Orbeez
-Funnel
-16.9 oz water bottle
-Clear balloons

DIRECTIONS

To start, I took two teaspoons of orbeez and soaked them in 6 cups of water for 4-5 hours prior to making the stress balls. Once it was time to make the orbeez, we dumped off some of the excess water.

Then we added orbeez to the water bottle. We decided we wanted to make the stress balls smaller so we only filled the water bottle 1/4 of the way full with orbeez. Then we added water. We recommend adding enough water to cover the orbeez.

Next, blow up the balloon about half way and attach it to the top of the water bottle.

Then flip the bottle over so the orbeez and water dump into the balloon.

Let out the excess air from the balloon. You may want to squeeze a little bit of water out too - that's up to you.

Finally, tie the ballon and you are all set with your orbeez stress ball!
We made changes from the original directions - we made stress balls that worked for us. When the girls tackle this again, I'm sure they will do something different and find a new way to create them. They made five stress balls today and each one was different. But that is part of the whole process. Creating, making, tinkering - you never stop...even when you think you have it "right" you come up with another way.

Until next time,
Jackie
